Meet the Team
Edward Jackman
My journey to running an instrument repair workshop began after almost a decade of managing music retail shops. In this time I developed knowledge of a wide range of instruments, makes and models. As well as the difficulties and faults that can occur through their use.
-
Fast forward a few years and my interest for specialising and training in woodwind repair began. With the major London technical colleges no longer offering course I sort out any repair technicians who would give me their time. David Fingerhut, Nikki Taljaard, Gale Lawson, Geoff Collins and Sunniva Hellerud to name a few. With all technical skills the real training comes in the doing, to this point I have carried out repairs on over a thousand instruments from minor adjustments, to full overhauls and restorations.
I am a registered professional member of NAMIR the national association of musical instrument repairers. And operate as part of their network.

Growing up in Varna, a Black Sea town on the coast of Bulgaria, I had a keen interest in music from a young age, playing the piano and taking dance classes for over ten years at a local arts school.
-
Alongside this I also developed a keen interest in all things mechanical as both my father (An Electrical Engineer) and my uncle (A carpenter) would let me spend many hours in their workshops.
Fast forward to 2016 and after moving to the UK, my interest in woodwind repair began. Alongside apprenticeship at London Music Co, I also trained with Trevor Head and Sunniva Hellerud.
I am currently a student member of NAMIR.
